The Real Black Man

Often, it is stated by lower educated black people that there is a certain way you must look,
act or dress to be a black person. Sadly, this ignorant way of thinking has been believed to
be true in the media and among the people of the white world. This way of thinking sinks
into the thoughts of young black and non-black youth. The youth of today are poisoned, not only
by television but by the very people they look to as role models. They began to believe that
ignorant behavior is the way of the black man.

Well I am here to let them know that those types of thoughts are wrong. The title of black man
is giving to those who not only have the heritage and the skin of a black man. It is given to those
who have the courage, drive, and fire of one. Those who can and will endure through hard times no
matter the circumstances are the real black men. The ones who can have the worst day of their
lives and taken life’s most harsh beatings and still stand proud are real black men. The man
who takes care of his family is a real black man. The man who cares for others and celebrates his
homeland with much love, wisdom, and pride is a real black man. The man who endured over 400 years
of physical and mental slavery is a real black man, so the only question is...are you that man? Are you a real black man.”
