I'm a second-year linguistics concentrator at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. I'm primarily interested in
phonology, phonetics, and their interfaces. In addition to co-leading an undergrad linguistics group here at Hampshire, I work as a research assistant in the Phonetics Lab at UMass Amherst under John Kingston.
This semester I'm investigating the effects of gestural overlap on trills across prosodic boundaries in Nepali, working with Wendell Kimper on an experiment involving perceptual phonetics and vowel harmony, documenting Dholuo with Seth Cable and classmates, and TAing Minority Languages and Linguistic Descriptions under my academic advisor, Kathryn Flack.
I'm available by e-mail at mes07 [at] hampshire [full stop] edu.
