moe. formed in Buffalo, NY, in 1989, and within two years they independently released their first album, which gained huge popularity among the jam band community. Over the course of several years, several influential bands took notice of moe.'s talent-filled performance and invited them to tour. Noteably, they opened up for the Allman Brothers and the Who, and they were featured at the Radio City Music Hall for several New Years Eve shows.

moe. has been featured on the lineups of several music festivals, including Woodstock '99 and Bonnaroo (which they have played at for 5 years so far). They also host several of their own, including moe.down and snoe.down, which take place annually in NY.

Over the years, moe. has built up a large fanbase, calling themselves moe.rons, and a reputation for being generous and caring. They have hosted several benefit shows to raise charity money for different causes, including a Tsunami benefit show for a small town in Sri Lanka and a benefit show to raise money for a center that services autistic children. They have raised several hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charitable causes over the years.
