Herman walked into a restaurant and was seated. He refused a menu and ordered the albatross. When the meal arrived, he took one bite, then pulled out a pistol and shot himself.
Twenty days earlier, Herman had set out on a sailing trip with his friends Albert and Gunther. As a storm approached, mistakes were made. The three men found themselves stranded in a dory, miles away from land, with no food and no water.
Albert died.
